2016 National Awards Banquet- Reno Nevada
The Sagebrush Chapter of MAFCA invites you to attend this year's MAFCA Annual Awards Banquet and meeting will be held in Reno Nevada December 5-8, 2016. Enjoy your stay at the fabulous Peppermill Casino & Spa with guaranteed room rates of $59++ per night. There is a free shuttle from the Reno International Airport to the Peppermill Resort.
The Get Acquainted party on the evening of December 5th will be a time to meet and greet fellow Model A enthusiasts from all over the country and will be held at the Peppermill Resort.
Tuesday morning, we will enjoy a guided bus tour of historic Reno with a stop at a private military museum. Tuesday evening will find us traveling by motor coach for a private Era Fashion Dinner Party at the National Auto Museum. This will be a wonderful opportunity to show off your era clothing and pose with the antique cars. We will enjoy a delicious dinner catered by Silver Peak Brewery among more than 200 antique, vintage, classic and special interest cars on display.
Wednesday, December 7th, you will have the opportunity to attend the MAFCA Board meeting and three seminars: “The History of the Lincoln Highway” by Jim Bonar; “Henry Ford vs Elon Musk, Building a Car Company 100 Years Apart” by Terry Jones (founding chairman of Kayak, Founder of Travelocity, and current chairman of Wayblazer), and technical seminar.
Wednesday evening, a presentation of the holiday classic Miracle on 34th Street from the writer of the musical theater classic, the Music Man and based on the movie of the same name. Single mother, Doris Walker, doesn’t want her six-year-old daughter Susan’s head filled with romantic notions. Their neighbor, Fred Gailey, tries to woo Doris by charming Susan and taking her to see Santa Claus at Macy’s, where Doris works. Doris is not impressed, but when it turns out Macy’s santa may, in fact, be the real Kris Kringle, a wave of love spreads across New York City that melts even the most cynical hearts. Filled with humor, spectacle and such beloved songs such as, “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” and”Pinecones and Holly berries”. This joyous, heartwarming musical is pure entertainment.

Thursday you have the opportunity to enjoy “Christmas on the Comstock”, with a guided motor coach ride to historic Virginia City. Enjoy many the unique shops and colorful saloons. We will return to the Peppermill for the MAFCA Awards Banquet at the Peppermill.
