Phil's Ford Farm sent in by Phil Mino of Strathmore California, who writes, "My membership number is 012558, and I've been a continuous MAFCA member since September 1958. I guess that makes me one of the old timers. I thought you might like to post these in the appropriate spots on the website photo album." On his web site www.fordfarm.net Phil also has photos of his Model T's. Posted 10/8/05
Speedex Tractor Conversion sent in by Mike Hamper SR of Jefferson, Ohio, who writes,
"Hello Folks , attached is a photo of my 1943 Speedex FG ( Farm and Garden ) Plowing on April 20 th 2005 here in Northeast Ohio. Has a Model-A engine, trans, and rear-end,radiator. Speedex only made these for approx. -4-years. "
1929 Pickup - owned by Bill Chester. Bill's on the left and an Arizona Highway Patrol officier is at the right. Actually, it's possible the Officer just wanted to peek under the hood. Thanks to Lenny McCloskey for sending this in to us.
A-400 Hunting Car circa 1945 - submitted by Wally Skyrman of Central Point, Oregon. His dad and uncle are pictured on a hunting trip in the mid 1940's. They found an "old car" to use, put in a four-speed transmission with low gears, and bagged their game. Wally wonders "where is it now?".
1972 Pinto Ad - Remember this one? It compared the "new" Pinto to it's Model A Coupe grand-daddy.
1930 Model A's at Henry Ford's Winter Estate - sent in by Tim Wildey of Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Tim writes, "On Saturday, February 19, 2000 I attended the Early Ford V-8 Club Show. This annual event was held on the grounds of the Thomas Edison/Henry Ford Winter Homes. We arrived at 8 am before the grounds open to tours. This gave me a nice chance to photograph both of my Model A's. The attached photo was taken by Roger Barnes using his new Sony digital camera. Some history: the photo is taken in front of Henry Ford's Winter Home. Thomas Edison's Winter Home is located on the same grounds but not shown in the photo, several hundred feet to the left. Henry Ford never visited Fort Myers, FL after Edison died in 1931. Both Homes sit on over 9 acres of ground and the Caloosahatchee River. All the furnishing in Edison's Home are original but the wall coverings and upholstery where replaced due to aging. The furnishing in Ford's Home where actioned off before the City of Fort Myers purchased it for 1.5 million dollars in 1988. Mrs. Mina Edison donated her husband's home to the City as a shrine to her husband.
Speedex Tractor Conversion sent in by James Newberry of New Jersey. Originally identified as a "Simplex", MAFCA member Don Gaffney has notified us about the error identifying the manufacturer. The Speedex used the 1929 radiator and shell, engine, trans and differential. Note how they mounted the seat on top of the Model A rear. If any of you out there have similar tractor conversions with Model A or B engines, JJ and Don want to hear from you!
The New Ford Engine - an interesting era photo from 1927.
Model A & B Tractors sent in by

Erik Beyer's Model A's - sent in by Erik Beyer from Stockholm Sweden. The photo shows three nice Model A Fords. He belongs to the Sweden Model A Club and Danish Model A Club. He's a busy guy and is also the webmaster for the Danish A Ford Club (DAFK) and their Treasurer.
1931 AA Tow Truck submitted by Don Taylor.
1928 Chassis viewed from the right side. A good look at the layout of the chassis components.
Phil and Philip Amato of South Berwick, Maine, who writes, "Both A's are father and son restorations. The first one is a 1931 AA truck. Restoration took 18 months from beginning to end. My son was 9 when we started it. The second restoration was a 1929 station wagon. That also took us 18 months. Much of the woody is original with a few reproduction parts. My son is 13 now and we are starting a 29 roadster pickup." Other PhotosNCRG Roundup 2003 Tour NCRG tour Here are some pictures taken by John LaVoy on the grand tour during the Northern CA Regional Group's annual Round-Up. I hope you can use some of them. I can send in hard copies if that would work better. The grand tour went through the redwoods stopping in Occidental then on to the ocean and back to Healdsburg where the event was taking place. It was a little foggy on the tour as you can see fromthe pictures at the ocean. |
