Becoming a Member of the Era Fashion Committee

The MAFCA Era Fashion Committee (EFC) is composed of six MAFCA members nominated by the Era Fashion Committee, appointed by the MAFCA President and approved by the MAFCA Board of Directors. The members are appointed to a two-year term. Three members are appointed in even numbered years and three members appointed in odd numbered years. All terms begin July 1. Members may be re-appointed to a single consecutive second term. All actions of this Committee are subject to the approval of the MAFCA Board of Directors.

Join us in the fun world of Era Fashions. If you enjoy the fashions of the Model A era and are interested in devoting some of your spare time to this great hobby, then I invite you to submit you application to become a member of the MAFCA Era Fashion Committee for the 2009-2011 term. This term begins on July 1, 2009.

The purpose of the MAFCA Era Fashion Committee is to:

  1. Maintain, coordinate, publish and update a set of Model A Era Fashion Guidelines
  2. Maintain standardize and update an Era Fashion Judges' Certification Program
  3. Establish, coordinate and monitor a testing program for Era Fashion Judges
  4. Develop, maintain and coordinate methods of judging era fashions at National Convention and MAFCA sanctioned fashion events
  5. Establish, coordinate and maintain a classification system for judging era fashions
  6. Develop, maintain and update a judging awards system for era fashion competition at National Convention and other MAFCA sanctioned fashion events
The criteria to become a member of the EFC is:
  1. Active membership in the Model A Ford Club of America
  2. Eighteen years or more of age
  3. Experience with local, regional or nation MAFCA activities
  4. Experience as a MAFCA fashion judge is desirable
To apply, submit a letter to the Era Fashion Committee Chairperson, Anne Neely-Beck, stating your qualifications, MAFCA fashion judging or entrant experience, and why you would like to be a member of the Era Fashion Committee.

The application must be received in the MAFCA office by February 15, 2009.
