My first introduction to the Model A Ford hobby was when my husband to be picked me for a date in his 1930 Deluxe Coupe. After 50 years of Model A parades, tours of the Rocky Mountains, national conventions, and regional High Country Tours while raising two daughters we are now introducing the Model A hobby to our grandchildren. Being members of the Model A Ford Club of Colorado has provided a great family oriented hobby for several generations. My husband started with one Model A and our garage has grown to a 6 “A” barn. I am currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Model A Ford Club of Colorado and have enjoyed the work, fellowship, and friendships.

My interest in fashion began when we were asked to model era fashions in local fashion shows. I had a good time dressing my young daughters in those cute era fashions and in the early 70’s, era fashions were easier to find. The style, grace, and the construction of the garments have held my interest all these years. I enjoy studying the angles of the patterns and styles, the practical solutions to the various body shapes, and the romance of the evening wear. I certainly feel very elegant when I wear my era fashions. The designers and seamstresses of the Model A Era were skilled artists.

I look forward to learning more about not only the fashions but also the lifestyles of men and women of the Model A era. Meeting fashion enthusiasts from across the country will enhance my knowledge, which I hope to share with the members of MAFCA.
