Era Fashion Judging |
|
Background At both Regional and National meets, era fashion judging is a favorite event. Both original and reproduction fashions are seen at these events. Articles on fashions appear regularly in The Restorer magazine. The newly released Fashion Facts is another example of projects undertaken by the Era Fashion Committee for the education and enjoyment of Model A fans. To help our members collect and assemble authentic fashion ensembles, the Era Fashion Committee has created Fashion Judging Guidelines, much like the MAFCA/MARC Judging Standards and Restoration Guidelines for cars. Both sets of guidelines may be purchased from MAFCA. Era Fashion Competition History by Maxine Dust

Fashion Judging Procedures Manual The Committee has also created the "Fashion Judging Procedures Manual" to assist the Host Fashion Coordinator, Chief Judge, judges and entrants of a MAFCA sanctioned Meet with instructions for planning a successful fashion event. At the July 2006 MAFCA Board Meeting, the Board approved access to this manual via the MAFCA web site. This manual contains three documents: The Era Fashion Committee wishes to make this information easily accessible to MAFCA members who are interested in era fashion. Host Fashion Coordinators, Chief Judges, Judges and Entrants of sanctioned meets can print all or part of the information in which they are interested. The FJPM has been revised and two new fashion opportunities are available: "Model A Era Image" and "Display Only." These are MAFCA Board of Director events and were presented for the first time at the 2007 Northwest Regional Group's Pendleton Model A Round-up. We are hoping this will gain the attention of members needing the information to judge and enter.
