[Red Line]

I married into the hobby in 1988. My husband and I spent our honeymoon travelling across the nation in his 1929 Ford Pick-up to Sturbridge, MA, to attend the MAFCA national tour. There I won an Award of Excellence wearing a black Georgette daytime dress, his wedding gift to me. Since then, I’ve amassed quite a collection of original and era image clothing, accessories, and fashion history books. I’ve won fashion awards from 2nd place all the way up to Awards of Excellence, and I’ve served as a fashion judge locally and nationally and as chief judge at our Texas Model A tours.

As hobbyists, my kids and I travelled as back-up crew for my husband, who along with his high-school students as navigators, competed in The Great Race in his 1928 Model A Racer he built from scratch—frame-up. In 2003 they won the X-Cup Division, crossing the finish line on Daytona Beach. At the moment (because we spouses know it can change at ANY time), we own a 1931 Deluxe Tudor Phaeton that recently won an MAFCA Award of Excellence in the Blue Ribbon judging, a 1931 A-400, a 1932 Ford Pickup, a 1934 Ford Tudor sedan, a 1950 Ford Woody Wagon, a 1964 ½ Ford Mustang convertible, and my grandfather's 1972 Chevy Cheyenne pick-up, and various other roadsters, coupes, trucks, etc., that he has hidden in various members’ barns, fields, and whatnot, thinking I don’t know—but I do know! 😉 We also own a 1967 Airstream, which my husband has restored, and his new projects—a 1956 Art Deco Airstream Caravanner and a 1964 Shasta named “Zelda” (the first flapper).

I am excited to serve on the EFC committee and follow in the footsteps of my mother-in-law, Patricia Davis, a former EFC chairperson and long-time MAFCA member.
