1931 Victoria

Owned by Garth Moore of New Zealand

Photographed here on the Kaikoura (Pacific) Coast. We were on the way to the annual Art Deco week but it was cancelled due to a lockdown following a virus outbreak. As a small island nation, we are lucky that the virus has been fairly well controlled, but there can be sudden disruptions to daily life. It is sobering to see the figures from the US and Europe. Next trip is to the NZ Model A National Rally early April. Fingers crossed.

1928 Phaeton

Owned by Bjorn Olsen, Stavern, Norway, who writes:

My Phaeton has serial number 635571 which indicates November 28, and according to the Judging Standards open cars as mine (35A) were equipped with outside handles from November 1928 and through 1929.

My car has red steering wheel, drum tail lamp and the handbrake of the squeeze grip type in front of the gearshift lever. The car has cowl lamps which is not original but are an accessory. I live in a small town about 2 hours’ drive south of Oslo.

1930 Tudor

Owned by Eberhard Wenng-Kraemer living in Ausacker, Germany. His son Jan writes:
I've never been into pre war cars, but since my dad got this one, I'm amazed. It was quite hard to get the timing of the ignition right, but i think it's ok now. Ii didn't expect such a easy crank start.

We will join a group of pre war cars owners next year. Seems to be some more Model A enthusiasts right next to us. I had contact with one of them, telling that in Denmark is a quite big Model A community. Living next to the Danish border we plan to join them too.

This photo came from a video that he posted on YouTube on hand-cranking the car.

Watch the video of 84-year old Eberhard crank starting the car.

One side of my family lives in Mexico City. This is a photo of Mr. Carlos Carranza’s 1931 Victoria in Mexico City. He has had the car since he was a very young man.

In 2005 he was kind enough to take my daughter to the church service that took place on her traditional 15th birthday celebration.

Here is my 1931 Deluxe Coupe, sold new here in New Zealand. I have owned it since 1975, and have really enjoyed restoring, driving, and generally having fun with it since then.

This is a 1931 Phaeton that has been lengthened and installed on a van chassis by Pierre Philippe, Pujaut, France.

He writes: My Ford A phaeton 1931 was built by Société Ford in France, in 1932/1933, on a van chassis. It may be later that she was turned into Phaeton 5 places, but I do not know when. It was completely renovated in 1992/1993 by two young men in Marseille who sold it soon after to a person to whom I bought it in early 2017. There was a problem with the engine, which I disassembled and entrusted to a repairer with whom I had difficulties. At the beginning of 2018 I bought a rebuilt engine at Schwalm's in Strasburg PA I quickly put it in place and I've driven 9000 miles. He is doing very well. I made small improvements with parts bought from Snyder's or Mac's.
