National Model A Museum

The Model A Ford Foundation (MAFFI) is spearheading the creation of a National Model A Museum at the Gilmore Automotive Museum in Hickory Corners Michigan (map at right).

The design of the building has been firmed up, and the facade of the building will resemble a 1929 Ford Dealership (see above). Groundbreaking is due to start in 2011.

The Gilmore complex already is home to several Auto Museums, including the AACA, Franklin Foundation, and Pierce Arrow Motorcars. The Lincoln and Cadillac/LaSalle clubs are both in negotiations with Gilmore to build their museums at the complex.

Fundraising is a major MAFFI project now to help complete this project. MAFFI is soliciting donations and holding a raffle of a 1930 Tudor Sedan to be given away in July 2011.

All MAFCA and MARC members, as well as all admirers of Model A Ford vehicles, are encouraged to support this national effort to establish a permanent home for Model A Ford vehicles and memorabilia.
